FEU Training held two busy workshops ‘Managing Your Business’ on the July 23 and another on August 6 to cater for demand aimed at giving freelance creatives further training in relevant business skills. Following on from last year’s highly successful

Make Impact and Maintain Momentum workshops, the sessions were held at the NUJ main offices in London and covered ‘Time Management’ and ‘Getting Deeper into Social Media’ using Facebook and Twitter.

Tutor Stuart Worthington took members through techniques for time management, including identifying the Time Bandits in your working life, giving time to sequencing and prioritising tasks and remembering his father’s mantra, Plan, Do and Review while, for the afternoon session, Nathalie McDermott demonstrated some of the key social media functions and discussed the pros and cons of using social networking sites for generating work and interest.
