Workshop content

You’ll learn techniques to help grow your business including what to do before you start to use MailChimp, how to use it efficiently and effectively, how to keep your audience’s attention and how to build mailing lists in these days of the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).

Helping you to market your work, you’ll learn how to make this tool a significant benefit to your creative freelance business without it taking up too much time. It includes:

  • How to find your audience and build up a mailing list
  • How to comply with the GDPR regulations for new audiences and existing ones
  • How to plan a schedule that means you can produce targetted newsletters quickly and regularly
  • How you manage lists in MailChimp
  • What audiences see first and how to make that compelling
  • Designing a newsletter
  • Handling graphics and images, especially if you’re not a designer
  • How to get readers to share your newsletter.

We’ll also cover how the free and paid versions of MailChimp work. You may not need to pay but you do need to know when it’s worth paying and when you have to.

Who should attend

Freelances who need to get their work and services known to more people – so really that’s everyone. You don’t need to have already signed up to MailChimp and, if you’re looking at any other similar service, everything you learn on this workshop will help with those too.

Learning outcomes

You’ll understand how to make marketing with MailChimp an effective part of your freelance business.

IMPORTANT

We will let you know promptly after the deadline if you have obtained a place. Unlike our webinars, we have a limited number of places for each online workshop. If you do not hear from us, please assume that you have not secured a place on this occasion.

Once you have confirmed that you can participate, we will send you the workshop link. If you do not confirm promptly, we will offer your place to someone else on the waiting list.

If you confirm your place but find that you are unable to participate, please let us know asap so that we can re-allocate your place to someone on the waiting list. If you do not let us know this will disadvantage another member. Also, we may lose the funds that enable us to provide these free workshops to all members including you.

We may not be able to offer everyone a place on every workshop, but, if there is high demand, we will try to set up further workshops on this topic in the near future and those who did not get a place this time will be offered first refusal. Also, please keep applying because everyone will get a place on a workshop asap.
